Those who read The Fast Tracker’s thoughts on Sunday’s racing would have walked off with a great collect of over $500,000 by taking double bankers and five legs in all three legs of the Triple Trio!
The team here did and we’re still celebrating!
—————————————————————
THE FAST TRACKER LOOKS FOR SOME MAGIC AT THE VALLEY.
With Joao Moreira sitting out the next three meetings through a suspension, there is a very open look to tonight’s card though, I am sure, that punters will think that with The Magic Man away, the Zac will play and which will mean many of Purton’s rides being under the odds.
Of course, The Zac Attack WILL be amongst the winners to try and get a bigger break on Moreira though some of the local boys like Ben So, Eddie Lai and Vincent Ho, below, have some good value runners which could make this one of those nights where form and tips might bite the dust.
R1 OPTIMIZATION STAR/NO TIES/IT CAN ONLY YOU/MARVEL PLUS
It Can Only You is only there ‘cos Gary Ng desperately needs to train a winner and Eddie Lai usually helps him out.
This just might be one of those times in a really crappy race where the best suggestion is to grab a box of char siu bau and wave to the exhibitionist on the eighth floor of one of the buildings facing the track.
She starts her show around nine and builds to a climax around 9.30pm- weather permitting.
R2 EXPECTATOR/FORTUNE BRAVO
Expectator was more like a spectator at its last start and might just improve plenty with Zac Purton aboard.
If at reasonable odds, have something on Fortune Bravo. The horse has suffered from a few questionable rides and in another weak race where the much improved apprentice Dickie Lui, below, takes over with his seven pound allowance, this could surprise.
As he did with Our Folks on Sunday, Douglas Whyte deputizes for the suspended Olivier Doleuze on another Folked up horse- King’s Folks- but I can only see this running a place- at best- in another drab race.
R3 BRILLIANT PROPOSAL/GENERAL IRON
This really looks like a battle between The Zac Attack and The Durban Demon in a rather poor nine-horse field- an AMAZING number of runners compared to the minuscule fields in ALL races in New South Wales.
R4 WELL DONE/TOMADACHI/NOBODY BUT YOU/HAPPY HOMING
A very tough first leg to the Triple Trio and though Red Courage, last start winner Speedy Gonzalez for Moreira, below, and with Purton up this time plus Happy Homing going to be amongst the favorites, tonight’s Triple Trio could be one of those that builds into a massive jackpot- something we haven’t had for a while.
Personally, I really like Well Done as a banker and think Vincent Ho will give it a good ride with another other local rider Ben So on Tomadachi going close while Andreas Suborics will be doing his best to save trainer Gary Ng from the drought he’s going through by trying to lead all the way on Nobody But You.
R5 SUPER STRIKE
There have been a number of quinellas this season featuring Zac Purton and good mate Tye Angland and this could be another one.
Both horses have already clashed this season with Hei Hei Posh winning that duel and will almost certainly start favorite.
Of the two, I prefer Angland’s mount- Super Strike- as this middle leg of the Triple Trio over 2200 metres just might take its toll on Purton’s Hei Hei Posh which seems to have already had quite a busy season.
That great French swordsman Gerald Mosse is back and it’s interesting that he’s deserted his regular ride- Yuan’s Fortune- to go with Spicy Siam with which he has had success.
Eddie Lai goes on Yuan’s Fortune and don’t let this put you off. Lai is a real trier and when on a horse with a winning chance, he can deliver- and this is one of those rides.
Backbench Blues for a minor upset- and a major disappointment- after winning over 1800m for Weichong Marwing. Should love this distance and has Vincent Ho aboard.
R6 HINYUEN PALADIN/FULL OF FUN/TWIN TURBO/RISING POWER
Gawd knows, Alvin Ng needs a winner and, hopefully, trainer Dennis Yip to whom he is indentured, has given him a ride with a winning chance- Hinyuen Paladin.
But if I were to slap myself into reality, I can see it running a place- but not winning. Life’s a bitch.
R7 GRAND ELITE/GERONIMO MEADOW
R8 MASTER KOCHANGWAN/SILLY BUDDIES/SHARP HUNTER
This season has seen less of the old David Hall and Brett Prebble and far more of a new partnership between the trainer and Douglas Whyte.
Though not exactly, the dynamic duo, this one should salute the Bat Signal.

BEST BET
Race 7, No. 1 Majestic Anthem
Endured a tough trip last time when wide throughout. Deserves another chance.
SECOND BEST
Race 3, No. 1 Rocket Let Win
Plenty of pace in this race. Expect him to be flying home.
LONGSHOT
Race 5, No. 1 Backbench Blues
Drops back into Class Four and suited here up to 2200m. Each-way appeal.
LAY
Race 4, No. 1 Speedygonzalez
Steps out of special conditions grade and meets stiff opposition here. Looks short enough.
QUADDIE
1,2,5 / 2,10,11 / 1,9,12 / 1,7,8,9. $50 for 46.29%.
