With so many following the Zac Attack and Durban Demon duel for the Jockeys Premiership, who’s heading the Trainers Premiership or wins of trainers have been pretty much neglected.

Other than which horses are which horses trained by Dennis Yip or John Moore are ridden by the two leading jockeys, it just doesn’t seem that important.

This will all change soon and I reckon that on Sunday, the Tony Cruz stable will be amongst the winner.

Tony is one of Hong Kong’s favorite sons, a one-time world class jockey and now a world class trainer.

With his brilliant California Memory, below, looking to have the Citibank Hong Kong Gold Cup at its mercy on Sunday at Shatin, he also has Pure Champion and Bullish Touch entered.

Elsewhere, ” Cruzy” has quite an army of horses for this Cup Day and which should be followed, especially Helene Fun Star and the mystifying Green Manner in race 9.

Also part of Cruz Control is Bullish Friend in race 8, the improving Winnie’s Horse in race 5 and Bullish Boy in race 4.

Of course on the subject of armies, John Moore has six runners in the Gold Cup.

Nothing surprising about this except for the fact that the trainer has actually given Zac Purton a ride- Military Attacks- which is almost- almost- as big a surprise as one day seeing Dougie Whyte riding a horse for Caspar Fownes.
